Tarzana is a district in the San Fernando Valley region of the city of Los Angeles, California.  The neighborhood is located on the site of a former ranch owned by author Edgar Rice Burroughs, who named it Tarzana after his jungle hero character Tarzan. Tarzana, a district of Los Angeles, is surrounded by Reseda to the north, Woodland Hills to the west, Encino to the east, and the Santa Monica Mountains.

Tarzana contains two country clubs with golf courses in the Santa Monica Mountains: El Caballero Country Club and Braemar Country Club. At the remote southern end of Reseda Blvd., there are a number of gated communities, including Mulholland Park, Silverhawk Ridge, Monte Verde, and Braemar Estates.  Providence Tarzana Hospital Medical Center is fine medical center which draws jobs and services into the area. Tarzana Recreation Center also provides baseball, basketball, children's play area, an auditorium and other family activities to get some exercise.  The Tarzana Cultural Center (pictured left) is located on Ventura Blvd in the heart of Tarzana and is a great place to visit.

Fox, Adam Moss, actress Lisa Kudrow, Blake Lively, tennis player Meilen Tu, musician Slash, filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson, actress Maya Rudolph, jazz musician Abraham Laboriel, rapper Kevin Federline, actor Ron Masak, KROQ's Kevin Ryder.
Sherman Oaks Center for Enriched Studies (pictured bottom left) is a middle school located near Reseda Blvd and Victory and is one of the largest magnet schools in the LAUSD district.
