San Fernando Mission Hills
Mission Hills is a community in the North San Fernando Valley that is home to an important historical landmark, the San Fernando Mission Church which was established by the missionaries. The Church is a beautiful site and the cemetary is attached. Mission Hills holds a special place in my heart since my great grandmother and grandfather are burried there. The church is spectacular and is probably the oldest in the San Fernando Valley. Brand Park is next to the Mission and has beautiful gardens often used for wedding pictures and venues.
One of the main attractions is the thoroughfares for shopping along San Fernando Mission Blvd. The complex has an old world charm since it was founded in 1797 by Father Fermin Lausen. Mission Hills was developed as a subdivision in the early 50's as the defense industry boomed in the Valley. Holy Cross Hospital was built in 1962 to serve the growth in the area.
