Luxury Homes and Gated Communities in Chatsworth, CA

Chatsworth (91311) has a unique country feel to it and has many homes on large lots which are zoned for horses.  Many of the streets in Chatsworth are lined with horse paths or trails which are fenced off to allow horses to pass. The city is in the northwestern San Fernando Valley bordered by the Santa Susana Mountains which are large sandstone rock formations making for a beautiful setting especially from the top of Stoney Point.  Porter Ranch is to the northeast, Northridge to the east, West Hills, Canoga Park, and Winnetka to the south, and the Simi Hills, Ventura County to the west.

Chatsworth is a very desirable area, known for its Indian Heritage and country feel.  It has fewer short sale listings than many other parts of the San Fernando Valley. Chatsworth also has several commercial properties which helps to bring jobs and support the local economy.  Some current businesses based in Chatsworth are: 3M Corporation, Girl Scouts, Capstone Turbine, Hydraulics International, and with Lamps Plus having production and distribution facilities here.

Chatsworth was originally inhabited by the Tongva-Fernandeno Tongva-Fernandeno, Chumash-Venturano, and Tataviam-Fernandeno Native American tribes which is not surprising given the natural beauty of the rock formations and area around Chatsworth Park. Chatsworth Park is a huge park with a sacred feel to it allong with Stoney point which explains why Native American civilizations had inhabited this part of the Valley. In fact, Stoney Point is the site of the Tongva Native American settlement of Asha’awanga or Momonga , that was also a trading place with the neighboring Tataviam and Chumash people.  Chatsworth is distinguished by having more parks and parkland acreage than most communities and is the home of Stoney Point Park and Sage Ranch Park.

Gourmet Food Trucks in Granada Hills (bottom left)

One of our favorite activities to do in the North San Fernando Valley is to visit the Street Trucks to try a new food sensation.  We enjoy being around others in the community and seeing and tasting all the wonderful foods they have.  I love some of the buyer trucks like the Big Boss Burger truck, or the Fresh and Meaty's turkey burger is good.  A large gathering of food trucks happens every Wednesday and Friday on Chatsworth Street between Zelzah down to about White Oak and beyond sometimes.  Located in the city of Granada Hills, near Chatsworth and Northridge.  Hope to see you there!!!
